"I knew that if you were able to make something of that last shoot, you were going to be our go-to photographer!"
I met the Patterson family earlier this year after I put out a promotion for mini shoots. When I called Andria to set up the shoot, she was in the car, heading somewhere with her daughter. I knew all too well what it's like to be a multi-tasking mama, trying to get things done using any and every second of peace and quiet. The first shoot with Andria, her husband, Cory, and daughter Madeleine was great! Like any two-year old, it took Madeleine a while to warm up to me, as I was a stranger. We held their session at a local park with tons of green space that Madeleine took advantage of to run around and play with her mom and dad.
Recently, Andria reached out to me again in order to get some Christmas pictures of her family. This year was my first year to take photos around the holidays, so opted for a festive location at Mystic Tree Farm in Traveler's Rest, SC. The Pattersons could not have looked any more gorgeous from the outfit selection to their genuine interaction throughout the tree farm. In her true fashion, Madeleine stole the show and took advantage of "driving the sleigh" behind the reindeer.
Children's photography is where it all started for me. Having a 3-year-old myself, I know first-hand how chaotic moments can be when a nap is missed or a tantrum is suddenly thrown. This is why when I photograph you and your children, I'm sorry to say it...but it's all about them in that moment. You will see the difference in your photos if you try to make them pose and "say cheese" versus letting them have fun, while I capture those authentic expressions that you know is a sincere moment of joy for them.
If you're interested in booking a session for your family, especially with small children, let me take on that challenge. No need to be embarrassed about how active your kids are or how short their attention span is while taking pictures. It's completely normal and actually makes the session better because of it. | firstname.lastname@example.org
